About: Sheryl

I've been collecting doujinshi since 2006, when I bought my first doujinshi through a contact who was attending the Winter Comiket in Tokyo that year. I still have that doujin, because I can't bear to part with it, plus, it features one of my favorite ships. After which I have been obsessively collecting all forms of doujinshi, and have spent a good portion of my money on them. I mean, pretty art? Who can resist? :D

My main fandom right now is Axis Powers Hetalia, but I also dabble on and off in Prince of Tennis and Fullmetal Alchemist. Because of the crazy nature of Hetalia, my pairings include, but are not limited to: Austria/Hungary, Germany/Italy, Sweden/Finland, UK/US, Germany/Austria, Turkey/Greece. These make up the bulk of my collection right now, because I only have 4 Gen/All-cast doujinshi. O_O;

Contrary to popular belief, this is indeed a costly hobby, and I work my ass off to ensure that I will always have enough money to buy things whenever I want to. As such, I do occasionally sell part of my collection to raise funds for other interests. I very much enjoy watching musicals, and am extremely into the Japanese musical theatre scene (they have loads of foreign musicals; Elisabth, Tanz der Vampire etc), and their musical tickets are expensive (4000-13000yen). To raise funds for these, as well as to buy more, I sell merchandise on my livejournal.

About: Domain

When I bought this reseller account, the plan came with a free .tld domain, so it was a on-the-spur idea, yet again! (This seems to be happening very often with my domain registrations lately, time to save money!) There is no exciting story behind the name, except that it was a chapter's title of one the books I was currently reading, and am still reading because I got sidetracked onto another book. ;)

I use notepad for coding, and Photoshop CS 4 for scanning and editing. All images used on this website have been personally scanned from my collection.

Not-so-frequently Asked Questions

Where do you buy your doujinshi from?
I have a list of places I have bought doujinshi from over here: http://community.livejournal.com/rhapsodyofice/profile

I'm interested in some of your books, do you do trades?
Always happy to! My wishlist is located on my livejournal, here.

Aren't binsen just paper? What is the point in collecting them?
Well, yes, they are. Letter paper, actually. They make really good wall decorations, I swear. I have a few Aiki Ren stuff up on my walls now, next to all my fliers. Also, they're really pretty. :D It's the same reason as to why people collect trading cards, snowglobes etc, I collect doujinshi and binsen in their place.

How old are you?
Legal enough to be buying NC17 doujinshi and my parents won't stop me.

Is there any doujinshi out there you would absolutely kill to have?
Oh isn't there? I would give my whole collection up if someone can point me in the direction of pretty, smokin' Death/Rudolf (Elisabeth) doujinshi.
